Every Breath: The Cosmic Purpose Intensive is an in-person reflective writing workshop. Participants will engage writings by and about Audre Lorde with activities designed and facilitated by Alexis Pauline Gumbs. The purpose of this workshop is for each participant to leave with insights and energy around their community accountable life-purpose.
The workshop will take place on August 26th, 2025 from 11am to 3pm in a downtown Durham, NC community space. The address will be sent to participants in advance.
After the workshop participants are welcome to join our whole celestial community for a life-changing public conversation between Alexis Pauline Gumbs and Sonya Renee Taylor to celebrate the paperback launch of Survival is a Promise: The Eternal Life of Audre Lorde. Alexis and Sonya will be discussing Audre Lorde and astrology, ancestral entanglement and love.

What Do I Need to Know?
This workshop is open to readers of Audre Lorde and Alexis Pauline Gumbs who are excited to be part of a space that centers Queer Black Feminist Brilliance.
The workshop will be held in Downtown Durham in a community space. Registrants will get the address in advance.

No. Food is not included, but there will be water and tea throughout. We will break for lunch and eat together in a place that can accommodate most allergies. The organizers will share the menu and participants are also welcome to bring their own food.
Housing and travel are not included in the intensive. Participants from out of town are responsible for their own housing and travel.
